Art technique

Initially, a drawing is slightly sketched with a pencil on a canvas. The final drawing is made by the use of a charcoal or a graphite pencil. The text is written with a non-water soluable and canvas compatible marker.

Every canvas is divided into two parts as you see. A drawing of a facial/ body expression and a phrase. If you want to check the originality of the drawings, it is sometimes noticable by the slight pencil sketch signs peeking from behind the final charcoal or graphite drawing.

The words of the phrase are written down on every canvas. This is noticable by the non-“print perfect”-straight line of the written text.

A canvas can be observed with both parts separately or as one complete piece of art.
A facial or body part can be missing on some of the drawings. This is done on purpose and should not be seen as missing, a mistake or forgotten.

To make the whole creation last, a fixation spray has been used. The spray is suitable for the charcoal pencil, the certain marker and the canvas.

Commonly, a canvas is used to paint and not to draw on. The drive to take the challenge of drawing on a canvas fibre, instead of on a paper, was and is there because I believe that the drawing gets an additional level of feeling/soul.

Pencil, pencil so inanimated are you...

Simple and fragile, what can you do?

Marker marker, only filled with ink so tight...

How can you intensify the hints inside?
