Het canvas - Basis - is een poging de realiteit van relaties te formuleren en te illustreren. Dit werk stelt niet enkel de relaties tussen partners, maar ook de relaties tussen dierbaren voor.

De vereisten van elke relatie dan ook kunnen niet uitsluitend worden gedefinieerd met liefde en zorg voor elkaar. Uiteraard zijn het basisparameters maar dezen mogen niet als constanten worden beschouwd. Ze veranderen met veranderende omstandigheden, veranderingen in de omgeving. Doch een nuchtere goede wil is hier wel een constante.

Elke relatie is niet alleen een relatie van mens tot mens. Het zou erg arrogant zijn om te denken dat twee mensen volledige controle hebben over hun relatie. Men moet ook belang hechten aan de effecten van de natuur en deze in proporties nemen. Dit vraagt om een formule die rekening houdt met alle parameters en probeert een relatie in beeld te houden in veranderende omstandigheden. Een formule die het belang van de parameters benadrukt, deze in een tijdlijn kadert, er flexibiliteit in toelaat en tegelijkertijd een buffer creëert.

In de tekening is de formule weergegeven als de twee handen in een bepaald kader. De ene hand is van de dame en de andere van de persoon met wie ze een relatie is. De handen zijn aan elkaar ter hoogte van de handpalmen en de onderkant van de hand. Dit is de constante.

De vingers zijn de parameters. Ze beelden het volgende uit: 2 mensen werken/staan ​​sterk samen (de duimen), ze staan ​​soms tegenover elkaar (de pinken), ze ondersteunen elkaar (de ringvingers en de middelvingers) en ze bereiken nieuwe hoogten door elkaar te ondersteunen ( de wijsvingers).

De dame kijkt vrij nuchter wat ook heel belangrijk is hier.

The canvas - Basis - is an attempt to formulate and illustrate the reality of relationships. This work concerns not only relations between partners but also relations between the loved ones.

The requirement of any relationship cannot be defined solely with love and care towards each other. Of course they are basic parameters that should not be taken as constants. They change with change of circumstances, changes in the environment. A sober good will is a constant here.

Every relationship is not just a human-to-human relationship. It would be very arrogant to think that 2 people have control over their relation. One should also put importance to the effects of nature and take them in proportion.

This hints at a formula that takes other parameters into account and tries to keep a relationship in frame in changing circumstances. A formula that emphasizes the importance of the parameters, frames it in a timeline and allows flexibility in it, while also creating a buffer.

In the drawing, the formula is depicted as the two hands in a certain frame. One hand belongs to the lady and the other to the person she is in relationship with.

The hands stick to each other on the level of palms and lower hands side. This is the constant.

The fingers are the parameters. They depict the following: people work/stand together strongly (the thumbs), they sometimes stand opposite each other (the little fingers), they support each other (the ring fingers and the middle fingers) and they reach new heights supporting each other (the index fingers).

The lady looks quite sober at this frame which is also very important.
